Spider-Man homeless?

Four days ago, reports of a failed negotiation between the Disney owned Marvel Studios, and Sony left many fans fearful that they may lose their favorite hero Spider-Man. As always, everyone blames Sony but despite what everyone is saying Disney is the actual one to blame. Disney and Sony's original contract was that Sony gets 95% of the profits from each solo Spider-Man movie while Disney only made 5% of profits. But after 5 movies featuring the fan favorite hero and Spider-Man: Far From Home also being Sony’s highest grossing film. Disney reportedly wanted a new deal where they decided to split the profits 50/50. This may sound fair, as reported by the Los Angeles Times, in 2011 Sony sold Spider-Man's merchandising rights to Disney. Meaning that every Spider-Man movie that comes out Disney would make over half of what Sony does off product sales alone. Sony is also the one who funds and produces the movies,so if they took that deal Sony would lose money while Disney would gain money. Sony did the most reasonable thing as a company by not accepting the offer. Later, the same day, Sony replied to all of the wrongful backlash in a Twitter post saying, "Much of today’s news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige’s involvement in the franchise. We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film. We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him." This left many fans speechless, but today it was reported that Disney is no longer requesting that they get 50% of their profits but will get 25% and are willing to let Tom Hardy’s venom into the MCU. Like many I hope that Spider-Man will stay in the MCU for years to come.
